[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO, it was 1939 - the start of WWII. All of the great powers would fall into the war, and millions would die. In one universe, the dropping of the atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the only atomic weapons to be used - starting the nuclear worldwide arms race to manufacture and test the powerful, sinful new technology. The atomic bomb. HOWEVER, this is not that universe. Here, Germany and Russia got their hands on the atomic bomb soon enough to use it. Japan and China soon caught up. And bombs were dropped everywhere - the world lived in fear, surviving only by taking out the enemy before they could attack. the Second World War raged until 1992. By its end, there were no more superpower nations. At the start of the war, there were some 3 billion people worldwide. By the end? 250,000 PEOPLE SURVIVED. IN THE YEARS SINCE the end of the war, those numbers have risen a little bit. But radiation, wild animals, disease, and murder still kill as many people as are produced daily. Large parts of the world lay in unpopulated ruins, but there are pockets of hardy humans dotting many of the countries that were once among the biggest and most powerful. China, Russia... The United States. It is here in the US, in what was once New York City, where this story takes place. SYSTEM AND TERRA, two rival gangs, now rule this place. They live among the ruins, fighting one another for resources and territory. In the middle, there are smaller gangs and rogues, but it's hard to live here and not become part of the political (and literal) battle. CHOOSE YOUR SIDE WISELY. SYSTEM HAS AND always will be a loose monarchy, though friendly towards neutral and allied gangs as well as its own people and their rights. traffic out of system territory isn't blocked, but is monitored and the borders are heavily patrolled. TERRA, ON THE OTHER HAND, is a strict monarchy not unlike a communist government. All members are tracked and are not allowed to leave except to go to battle. The borders are, thus, even more patrolled than System's and sneaking out is just as difficult as sneaking in. Terra is the place for the power-hungry and the intimidating.
