01. tell me about System and Terra?
They were formed by Dmitri Bellmont (System) and Jonathan Parker (Terra) in 1995 - three years after the war ended. System is typically more lenient, kind, and peaceful towards smaller gangs - though they have no mercy for Terra or its allies. They are technically a monarchy, but the leaders are typically open to the wants of the people. Terra is far tougher for more militarian, and prefers to use violence. They are not friendly towards neutral parties or System, and have a strict monarchy. They are constantly at war over territory and morals.
02. where does this RP take place?
New York City, New York - primarily Manhattan.
03. are special powers allowed?
Generally, no. However, some abilities can be purchased from the shop. They are very expensive and regulated, considering special abilities aren't supposed to exist.
04. what technologies are there?
Generally anything created prior to the 1980s. Disposable lighters, post-it-notes, push tabs on cans, soft/disposable contacts, and Prozac are "righteous." Lingo can vary, but it'd be rather 80's/90's. Anything requiring electricity would be unusable without a generator. The internet doesn't exist (GASP) and there are no cell phones. VCR tapes are pretty much as advanced as it gets. Guns are still around, but ammo is rare, so not many people can actually use guns. Cars exist, but they cannot be driven, as there is no gasoline.
05. what threats are there?
Wild animals often wander into the city. Packs of feral dogs kill hundreds each year as well. Diseases are hard to treat, and the elements can be hard to escape without temperature control. Gang battles are a problem for members of larger gangs (mainly System and Terra), but starvation is exclusive to rogues and small gangs.
